Clarifying character

Many writing books and tools mistakenly equate physical attributes, preferences, and backstories with character. This misuse of "character" causes many writers to focus on the wrong things when creating simulated humans for their stories and novels.

To help resolve this issue, we refer to "characters" in our stories as "simulations." We've also created a Simulation Designer to help you focus on the correct aspects of your simulated people so you can reveal their character naturally throughout your stories.

We're still working on our Simulation Designer, but you can use it for free during the beta by clicking on Register to create an account and then accessing Resources menu after signing in.

Promotion for founding members

Beginning in May, you can join our subscription-based, online Weekly Writing Workshop as a founding member for only$30 per month. That's four to five hours of writing instruction per month for less than the cost of one hour of music lessons.
