About Us
Why we write
Inkwright, Inc. is passionate about writing and provides the following services for our clients:
- Ghostwriting
- Ebook formatting
- One-on-one writing coaching
- Online writing groups for adults
- Online writing groups for K-12 (we require parental supervision for all children under 18)
Fiction and creative nonfiction play a vital role in our culture by allowing us to explore ideas, challenges, emotions, timeframes, and experiences outside our own.
Stories build our capacity to relate to others and make sense of complex realities by putting abstract concepts into relatable characters and scenarios and revealing essential truths about what it means to be human.
The world needs great stories told well. Our goal is to help you become one of those extraordinary storytellers. Jump to writing coaching →
Where we started
Our founder is passionate about writing. He started winning writing contests in the fourth grade and went on to earn a degree in English and Creative Writing, graduating summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA.
He formed Inkwright, Inc. in 1998 under the name Axisavant, LLC to drive two passions:
- Writing award-winning documentation
- Building high-quality, customer-focused software
Under the Axisavant, LLC brand, we co-authored Software Testing and Internationalization with Manfred Rätzmann and authored print and online technical articles on Linux and software development. We also wrote technical documentation in English and Japanese for companies like:
- Epson Kowa
- Intel
- Microsoft
- Novell
- Sun Microsystems
In addition to our writing, we developed web and desktop applications like:
- Infinite Mind's EyeQ speed-reading software
- Maverik's reward card system
- Myriad Genetics' clinical trial software
- The University of Utah's Anesthesiology Department's time-tracking system
- Utah Plastic Surgery Society's board certification website and campaign
In 2018, we dropped the software engineering part of our business to focus solely on writing. We still write technical documentation for our clients; however, we're shifting our focus to ghostwriting, fiction, and creative nonfiction.
We are also beginning a writing group focused on K-12 writers in 2024. Our goal is to teach individuals of any age to write their best so they can create and share the stories that burn within them.
